Emery
Based on aluminium oxide and silicon compounds, produced by crushing emery ore and processing it through melting or heat treatment, washing and grading. A matte general-purpose abrasive widely used for sandblasting, grinding stones and lapping.
Features
- Balanced toughness and strength give a broad application range
- Fine size distribution enables high-precision polishing
- Angular particle shape with high density and toughness gives long life
- High hardness with moderate friability delivers excellent cutting and grinding power
Applications
- Pre-treatment for Teflon and ceramic coating on kitchenware
- Pre-treatment for thermal spray coating and painting in shipbuilding
- Scale removal after heat treatment
- Stone working and wood or glass etching
- Sand removal from casting molds and die-casting mold cleaning
